This Privacy Policy explains how the E. No-Trump Hansen Committee (the “Committee,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit HansenDE.com or otherwise interact with our campaign.

Information we collect

Information you provide. When you sign up, volunteer, or contact us, we collect the information you give us — such as your name, email address, ZIP code, and mobile number. If you contribute, your donation is processed by Anedot, and federal law requires us to collect and report certain contributor information (name, mailing address, occupation, and employer) to the Federal Election Commission, where it becomes part of the public record.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically receive technical information — such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit — through cookies and similar technologies, primarily to understand and improve our outreach.

How we use information

We use the information to send campaign updates, event invitations, and volunteer and fundraising requests; to coordinate volunteer and voter-outreach efforts; to process and acknowledge contributions and meet our legal reporting obligations; to understand and improve our website and messaging; and to comply with applicable law.

How we share information

We share information with service providers who help us operate the campaign — for example, our email provider, website host, and fundraising processor — who are obligated to protect it. Consistent with common practice among political campaigns, we may also exchange, share, or rent supporter information (such as name and email) with other Democratic candidates, committees, and like-minded organizations. If you would prefer that we not share your information in this way, email us at the address below and we will honor your request.

Your mobile number is treated differently. Mobile phone numbers and text-messaging (SMS) consent are never shared with or sold to any third party or other organization for their marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared by us with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties unless required by law. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We may also disclose information when required by law or to comply with Federal Election Commission or other legal obligations. We do not sell your information for unrelated commercial purposes.

Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics, to measure traffic and improve the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from campaign emails using the link in any email. For text messages, reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help (see our Text Messaging Terms). To access, correct, or delete information we hold about you, email info@HansenDE.com. Note that we may retain certain information as required for legal and Federal Election Commission compliance.

Data retention & security

We keep information for as long as needed to operate the campaign and meet our legal obligations, and we use reasonable safeguards to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Our website and services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your state privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Some of these laws contain exemptions for political organizations, but we are happy to help — contact us using the information below.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
